“Pain is real, but so is hope”
Hello! My name is Jemima, and I am a BACP-registered humanistic-integrative psychotherapist. I’m approachable and compassionate, and I believe therapy is a collaborative process where we’ll work together to support you in navigating your feelings, understanding yourself, and addressing the issues that matter most in your life. I don’t come to therapy as an ‘expert’ to tell you what to do – instead, I’ll be right beside you as we work toward your goals. I’ve helped people facing all kinds of challenges, like depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, women’s issues, grief, addiction, and more. I also support expecting parents during pregnancy and those undergoing adoption. Sessions with me are usually 50 minutes long and held weekly, but we can discuss any adjustments to fit what works best for you. I offer online therapy via Zoom or Microsoft Teams for your convenience.
Qualifications and Experience
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling from CPPD London, and I have experience working in private practice, the NHS, various charities, and on helplines. Additionally, I have a BSc in Psychology from UCL and an MSc in Addictions and Mental Health, all of which have shaped my approach to psychotherapy. Currently, I am undergoing training as a somatic practitioner, delving into embodied approaches to healing and wellbeing. In addition, I am pursuing a PhD focused on exploring parental-fetal bonding and support for expecting parents.
As a member of the BACP, I adhere to its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am committed to professional development, and I have regular clinical supervision to support me in my practice.
Psychotherapy Sessions
Psychotherapy is often seen as a mysterious process, but it doesn’t have to be. Therapy is really about talking things through with a therapist in a safe, non-judgmental space. A therapist listens without bias and helps you explore your thoughts and feelings. They offer support and help you recognise patterns in your behaviour. This process can lead to greater self-awareness and provide strategies for tackling the challenges you’re facing. The therapy space is collaborative - meaning we work together - and your insights are just as important as mine. There are many different types of therapy, and you may have heard of things like CBT, psychoanalysis, or humanistic therapy. If you’re curious to learn more, we can explore different approaches that might work for you.

My Approach

Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and each person’s needs are unique. That’s why I use a mix of approaches, including person-centred, CBT, psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and Gestalt methods, to suit you best. No matter what, I make sure our sessions are warm, non-judgmental, and culturally sensitive, as I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is essential for meaningful change. We’ll work together in a way that feels right for you, allowing you to feel safe and supported. I value the connection between mind and body, so I often bring in somatic practices and embodied exercises to help release emotional stress. Whether you’re looking for short-term therapy focused on a specific issue or long-term support to dive deeper, we’ll create a path forward that aligns with your goals.Maybe you’re facing a difficult time, feeling stuck, or struggling with a recurring issue – whatever it is, you deserve support. I know that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming, and making the decision to start is a big step. My goal is to create a safe, confidential space where you feel understood and listened to, and where we can work together to understand and meet your needs. If what I’ve described resonates with you, we can arrange a free, brief introductory call. Many people find this first conversation helpful in deciding whether to start therapy.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or want to book an initial call. I’d be honoured to work alongside you on this important journey. You can contact me directly, and I will be happy to respond to any questions or inquiries.
